Absolute Muscle Failure.

OK so after pushing myself to failure on an exercise, does it make sense to rest for 5 minutes and then fail again? And keep repeating this? Will this cause damage? I am really struggling to get my biceps sore the next day I am working until I get a massive pump, I feel the burn, I cant go on.......
