Compound Movements vs Isolation muscles

I am skinny fat and wanted to bulk but I am confused as some people told me to do compound movements rather then isolation exercises but I wanted to do combined like a full body spilt workout routine for 6 days a week if you know what I mean. Secondly I am only 17 and 5ft 3 and weigh around 62-64kg...
