Lose Weight and gain muscle

I am currently running about 5 miles a day besides the weekends. I am about to get back to the gym to lift weights. I am trying to loose weight and reach my first goal of 185lbs from 2013lbs. currently i am 204lbs. Is there any suggested work outs i can do for my upper body in order to gain muscle...
